December rush

Hi all,
I know we are all heading for the holiday season... but before we do, December is likely to be very busy. There are a lot of hand in dates before christmas and also a lot of exams after in Jan. So we are preparing for a busy time in the library.
A few tips:
-There are new printers and photocopiers but please give yourself enough time in advance of your deadlines to get printing etc done!!
-It is possible to book PCs in the busy times: http://www.uel.ac.uk/lls/mypc.htm
-Please note closure dates over the christmas vacation and plan around them:
Closing at 9pm 17th Dec
Closed 18th and 19th Dec
Closing at 4pm 24th Dec
Closed 25th Dec-29th Dec
Open 10-5 30th Dec- 3rd Jan with security staff only.
Open 24 hours from 4th Jan 2011

Thinking of doing a PhD.....

Hi,
We in the library have some sources of help for you....
Firstly when you are looking for a suitable PhD why not try looking at this website:
Find a PhD
When you start doing some research and begin your PhD, we also have some resources to help you. There is a very useful e-book which we have recently purchased:
dawsonera : Stepping stones to achieving your doctorate
Also it is worth checking out our research portal that is currently being developed:
Research portal
We also have a number of books on how to conduct research, different research methods and also conducting case studies. So think about checking out some of our resources.
Don't forget that you can get access to all of our databases. You can also book an appointment with your subject librarian if you need guidance on which databases to use. You can also place interlibrary loan requests for articles and books that we may not have in our collections here at UEL.

Purple turbines.....
